CBD-Infused Golden Milk

Why Turmeric?

Turmeric, known for its golden pigment, is believed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, along with the potential for a wide spectrum of health benefits. Like CBD, turmeric is fat soluble, meaning that when combined with fats (such as those from coconut oil), they are more efficiently absorbed into the bloodstream. This recipe also includes black pepper, which has been found to boost the absorption of turmeric as well. Whether you're looking for a warming drink to help ease a cold, or a calming beverage to sip and wind down after a long day, this CBD-infused Golden Milk recipe is the perfect healing remedy.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups light coconut milk (canned)

1 1/2 cups unsweetened plain almond milk

2 thin slice crystallized ginger

2 whole green cardamom pods, broken

1 clove

1 medium cinnamon stick

3 black peppercorns

1/2 tsp ground turmeric

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 tsp Pure Grade A maple syrup

1.5 mL Full Spectrum CBD oil (we used TenneCBD Formula Green Plus)

Utensils Needed:

Saucepan

Whisk

Strainer

Small bowl

Favorite mug

Step 1. In a small bowl, combine the coconut oil and CBD oil. Set aside.

Step 2. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring all of the ingredients except coconut oil and maple syrup to a gentle simmer.

Step 3. Stir well and lower the heat to low or low-medium (you want it to simmer but not boil). Add coconut oil and maple syrup and whisk gently until well combined.

Step 4. Cover with the lid ajar and allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Step 5. Turn off the heat and strain before serving.

Step 6. Sit back and unwind with a warming cup full of antioxidants + fragrant spices.
